“Oh – so you feel upset. Read this.” – thanks Universe! It’s sometimes fascinating what messages come your (my) way and how timely they are.

Give up anger toward others and yourself.

See that the force of any heated reaction is not strength.

Remember that for any and everyday action of force, there is an equal and opposite one.

This explains why the fighting never ends.

Let it end.

Let it end. Give it a laugh. Begin again. How would you do it this time? How would you interact or react, this time? What would make this the greatest way possible. What would you do? What small thing would make a difference?

Just checking. Now, go do it.

Love is Equal. March 26, 2013

Love is Everywhere. Love is Equal. Does equal marriage even need to be a question?

Celebrate love. Don’t ban it. Do like Sweden, and raise the flags for all celebrations of love – gender neutral.

During the weeks leading up to Pride Stockholm you can see rainbow flags flying from the flagpoles that line the water in front of the royal castle. (more…)

Third time has the charm? Not in all cases. When it comes to relationships – with the same person – that reaches the junction of  “This is not right for me”, I would rather say: “One time is no time. Twice, are two times too many.” Not to neglect the first time – by all means, be grateful for what it brought you – but do yourself a favor and (more…)

It Makes Me Feel Love April 11, 2012

…what is it that you love that would bring your voice and life back should you be in this position?

For me – music, yoga, dance. If you ever see me with my head down – that would lift me up. And even if I know it, it is easy to forget. Even without Alzheimer.

It’s not a coincident that I together with Emma,  my partner in crime in a Co-Active Leadership Program, created a workshop called “Dance to the voice of your core”.

May we never forget. Put on the music and get movin’! Do you feel that spring is in the air?! 😉

Enjoy,

Johanna

AND DO SEE this movie. To the end. – The full article is in today’s Mashable.

Love is in the air. Do do do, do do do….

The Sweetest Kiss March 29, 2012

At first he wasn’t interested at all. Clearly not.

“No – I’m watching TV.” [Breathe – don’t take it personally.]

After a little bit of begging and trying to get his attention he comes around to say hi for a second. Maybe two.

Hanging around a little longer… asking a few questions… about the day, the special event, celebration…

He gets a little excited and wants to share what he had gotten. A helicopter. I would be too.

And then it was time to go to bed. It had been a really long day. So before rushing off I try to connect onces more.

Calling his name calmly ones, twice… three times. He looks at me finally and I throw him a kiss. He lights up and does the same thing back at me!

Then he expresses “no, closer…” and climbs over the table and computer and kisses the screen on the other side.

Mm. The sweetest kiss. That one will last with me for a long time. My nephew has turned 3.

Happy Hips December 17, 2011

A strap, a tennis ball and a yoga mat. +100 people and Rusty Wells. In a workshop. The quote of the day:

If you want to be happy – think happy thoughts. If you want to fall in love… open your hips.

So there you have it – the master has spoken 😉 And this is how you could do it: (Rusty – where are your YouTube videos? 😉

Happy Saturday all.

Johanna

Oh – why? The focus of this workshop was to “open your hips and invite freedom and fluidity into the space around the entire hip and pelvis area. We’ll flow through a vigorous practice that is designed to liberate and deeply release this space in the body that tends to be a dumping ground for energetic and physical residue.” So by doing that you will reach benefits such as letting go of the past, feeling more relaxed, grounded and present. Makes perfect sense, no?

Be Happy, Love Deeply, Start Spending November 23, 2011

I am sharing an email I just received…

Imagine that you had won the following prize in a contest: Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400.00 in your private account for your use.

However, this prize has rules, just as any game has certain rules. The first set of rules would be:

Everything that you didn’t spend during each day would be taken away from you.

You may not simply transfer money into some other account.

You may only spend it.

Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $86,400.00 for that day. The second set of rules:

The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say, Its over, the game is over! It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.

What would you personally do?

You would buy anything and everything you wanted right? Not only for yourself, but for all people you love, right? Even for people you don’t know, because you couldn’t possibly spend it all on yourself, right? You would try to spend every cent, and use it all, right?

ACTUALLY This GAME is REALITY!

Each of us is in possession of such a magical bank. We just can’t seem to see it.

The MAGICAL BANK is TIME!

Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life, and when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is NOT credited to us.

What we haven’t lived up that day is forever lost.

Yesterday is forever gone.

Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time….WITHOUT WARNING.

SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars.

Think about that, and always think of this:

Enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, be Happy, Love Deeply and enjoy life!

Here’s wishing you a wonderful and beautiful day.

Start spending.

…and it’s not Black Friday that I am preparing you for ;).
Enjoy the long weekend!

Escape the GoldRun November 10, 2011

OK – as an excited participant from the Blog World & New Media Expo, I download the GoldRun iPhone app, after scanning the QR code on the covered New Fort Escape model, to be launched in a couple of weeks.

Let’s see… how does this work? OK challenges, and points. I take a photo of this animated dog, on my bed per the instructions – and share on twitter or Facebook. That takes a while. Voila – that gives me one point. And a message shared…

There are more challenges with upcoming deadlines to follow. I get one point for each shared photo. Fine. So what does the competition look like? HA!

3 days in to the game, the leading participant has 911 points. Thank you – I think I have other things to do than taking photos of cute animated dogs and uploading – no matter how much I like Ford (it was my first car after all). They must have another target audience than me. It will be interesting to see what the results will be from this campaign.

Talking about car campaigns – tomorrow, Friday November 11, is the last day to vote on the Toyota Sweden Facebook page, which child charity shall get the most colorful hybrid car donated – by children, for children.

Go to Toyota Sweden Facebook page and vote! It takes two minutes. The video that they created of the children paining the car is sweet and you can only see it there… or you can see photos and listen to the music by (Swedish;) SOL Stat & Orchestra Live right below… It will make you smile.

Love Shower November 19, 2010

Have you ever gotten a Love Shower? It is a pretty nice experience. I guess you could give it different names. Appreciation Shower. Acknowledgement Shower. You can do it one-on-one, or in group. Privately or publicly. You can do it in different occasions. Situations I have seen it in are:

  1. During a personal growth workshop
  2. At the end of a group project
  3. At birthdays
  4. During a relationship
  5. At a wedding
  6. By the deathbed
  7. During a funeral

It is like the absolute feel good movie Validation (do you remember – did you see it?) – but more focused and concentrated and times 10. Or times 100.

Imagine sitting in a circle with 10 people who you know to a more or less extent. Your task is to sit quietly and receive while looking into the eyes of the person who speaks. The others task is to one by one express what they love and appreciate about you. The strengths they see. How you have contributed. How you impact them. The gifts you have.

It can be extremely powerful. It can be quite surprising. They can call on things you were absolutely not aware of. They can call on things that are totally contradictory to your own inner critic. (Inner gremlins in life coach terms). It can make a positive mark for life that you can forever lean on.

Imagine standing in a circle of 100 students with whom you have participated in a global international conference. Your task is to write on three different pieces of paper a message to three different people, fold it and walk over and give it to them, so that they can bring with them home to their country as a memorable takeaway.

You can make a friend for life.  Maybe someone feels like they have a friend for life.

I can give many more examples. Bottom line: you touch people deeply. You make people feel good. Appreciate themselves more. Be more aware of their strengths and their impact.

What if you, or we, do that more often. What if we by doing that shift a “bottom low” situation to “raise to the top”. Maybe leaving on a high.

Bring this ritual to that set of situations:

  1. Relationship breakup
  2. Divorce
  3. Lay-off

What if you would leave something that could be very sad and heavy, with a high head and warm heart, knowing that this past epoch had many valuable memories, made a difference to someone or something and you were part of it. And it is something you can bring with you and do again.

What if the mandatory SOX procedure in HR for all companies was to have a Team Power Shower annually in addition to the occasion of anyone leaving, for any reason.

I think I just came up with another business idea. I know – it sounds a little flower power and out there. But I live in California after all. And why do we do these things? Because we can. And because it has great impact.

Who are you going to give a loving power shower next?

I would like to end with the expression that Tim Nichols at the Hub Soma (where change to to work) uses in the member distributed emails:

Of everyone who read this, I like you the best.

With love,

Johanna

On a Secret Mission Sent from God… November 13, 2010

The last nugget from the rocking-out-of-this-world yoga class with Rusty Wells earlier this week was when we were laying on the right side after Savasana (dead mans pose) at the end of the class, instructed to reach high up with our left arm and easily pull down something precious that we for any reason earlier in life had removed from our heart, and bring it back down and put it back in place.

This something precious could be love for someone who had hurt us, or made us insecure or unsure… Maybe this special someone is truly sent on a secret mission from God – (s)he just don’t know it yet, and maybe just need some extra love.

Read this slowly again. And maybe also follow the instructions – reach for something way up, and bring it back to your heart. Think of someone in your life who this would apply to. How could you reach out to him or her, and maybe extend some special care. A touch of love. Let them know they matter.

I know – it can be difficult. But imagine the impact. Imagine the impact of this yoga class let alone. The room was PACKED. It wouldn’t surprise me if we were 150 people in the room. Everyone had given himself or herself the gift of being there – with the result of feeling filled with energy, love and gratitude. Feeling alive and renewed in every cell after a challenging class. Imagine the ripple effect when each and one of them went home and acted on that message. Even if they didn’t, even if they just took the message to heart and found piece with themselves – that will show and rub off.

Coincident or not – I had had a conversation with a friend the day before who shared when he had come home from work after a bad day being in a very bad mood, and his girlfriend had approached him with a big hug expressing how “courageous” she thought he was. Immediately he felt better, and then asked “where did you get that from”? With a guilty expression she had said “Dr. Phil” – and he felt totally cheated. With a smile. Cause it worked!

Rusty Wells ended the class with an invitation to a workshop at the studio tomorrow Sunday November 14 on Bhakti and Transformational Heart-Based Healing, led by Dr Dan. According to Rusty, “better than Dr. Phil”. 😉

Spreading the L<3VE,

Johanna

Are we maybe all on a secret mission sent from God?

And by the way – when we talk about God, it is always God of our own understanding. What ever that is. Even my dear dad, who resigned from church in Sweden, would have had a tear in his eye and resonate with this.
