IMG_5881One of the benefits of being your own boss is that you have full freedom of defining your job – and defining your title. As I started my business Herringbone, 3 years ago, I had the title “Coach and Consultant”. One year ago plus, I had one part time associate and two gals who wanted to join, one with a requirement of a more significant title. So I changed, and became the (more…)

Do you believe when you see, or vice verse? March 17, 2013

How are you wired? Do you believe something first when you see it? Or do you see it when you believe it?

Do you have your glass half empty or half full? I think the questions go hand in hand.

Yesterday I saw something unbelievable with my own eyes. If I believe it? Don’t know what to say… Yes. There isn’t anything not to believe. I saw it. Do I know how it happened? No. I take that as a good proof of that you don’t need to know how to make things happen. But there is a way. And magic is a real thing.

Do I come across as confused? Still in minor chock? 😉

Third time has the charm? Not in all cases. When it comes to relationships – with the same person – that reaches the junction of  “This is not right for me”, I would rather say: “One time is no time. Twice, are two times too many.” Not to neglect the first time – by all means, be grateful for what it brought you – but do yourself a favor and (more…)

The Invitation

It doesn’t interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know
what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me
how old you are.
I want to know  (more…)

IMG_5601When it comes to social media and getting your message across, you can sometimes ride on the wave of success created by others.

  • Comment and engage on blogs or articles that have a large number of readers and views
  • Position yourself by stating something controversial, maybe contradictory or variation of an already accepted and established concept
  • Engage in a trending topic on Twitter
  • Comment with a video response to a viral video on youtube

The last one I would have loved to see from (more…)

There is a hidden gem in San Francisco called Jazz in the Basement. That’s what it is. And it’s the best jazz, in a very intimate setting, and with a very friendly ambiance. The singer Jesse Foster and his wife Michele host one concert every month with top notch musicians.

Just about a year ago in conversation with the pianist, we started talking about Swedish music – there was this one tune he knew… I sent him something else to listen to… and one thing led to another. (more…)

When I started this blog some 3-4 years ago, I did it because I had an urge to write – although I didn’t quite know about exactly what. Initially I just wrote from my heart and posted, quickly looking to see if it got any hits at all. If someone was reading. Curiously hiding behind the screen.

I got a push to make it public within a week of start by a coach friend of mine. So I did. (more…)

Oh Ye Be Faithful November 10, 2012

November 10, Saturday morning in San Francisco. The weather temperature changed from 27 degrees Celsius earlier this week, to 12 degrees right now. I woke up early, put on the largest and warmest sweater I have, soft pants and socks, and started to clean up and fiddle around – clean the light holders in the window… while singing Christmas Carols. “Oh ye be faithful…” to be more precise.

Mm… hot tea, nice breakfast – let me play that song on youtube… And this is what I found. (more…)

The interactions on wordpress has become mych more active as of recent. I’m receiving many more likes and responses from other bloggers whom I don’t know. I guess you could say it’s like Twitter – but much much more text. Or acually – more like Facebook, but open to people you don’t know. And appart from like, follow and comment – you can do something similar to “share”…

Testing the feature in WordPress to “Reblog” a post from the last person who liked my “It’s true what they say” post.

My father wasn’t a brain scientist per s.e., he was a neuro surgent (is that not a word? It keeps correcting me.) I’m sure he knew about the positive impact of your envisions and thoughts – he didn’t say it out loud – but based on his actions, he is the one I thought of while reading this. Apart from the prayers, to be truthful.

That said: imagine the best and have a blessed day ;). Enjoy the post below.

Hello everyone!

This is the first post of this blog, in which I’m going to write scientific facts about those things that surrounds us and that are soooo cool, but we just don’t know them. Did you know for example that ALL BRAIN SCIENTISTS KNOW, that if you imagine really good stuff about your future, and just leave this thought alone, the brain will necessarily make you achieve them within just a few years? The brain is like a very good chess player who sees what needs to be done in order to achieve a certain goal within a few steps, but he sees years ahead! So, this time I’m going to write a little bit about the brain, but in my next posts I’m going to write about things like stars, quantom physics, The AMAZING pyramids of Giza, different theories about our past, sacred geometry (The Geometry of all…

Halloween in the US. October 31, 2012

As I sit and work I notice that Facebook has a proposed status update with the question “What is the best halloween outfit?”

Shortly after someone knocks on my door. Ohhh. Trick or treat. Should I be scared?

Outside stands my friend, in a Viking outfit and a box of (slightly demolished) cup cakes for me. “This is how I went to work today!”, she says with a big smile.

Well – that fits perfectly, and wins the Herringbone price for the best Halloween outfit, on a Global Head of HR for a Silicon Valley software company.

Happy Halloween all!

Johanna
